Coxsackie-Athens Foundation for Education Announces 2019 Wall of Honor Inductees
Five Distinguished Inductees to be Recognized at Wall of Honor Gala Event on November 16, 2019
Coxsackie, NY – The Coxsackie-Athens Foundation for Education (C.A.F.E.) is pleased to announce the 2019 class of inductees into the Wall of Honor. This year, five deserving individuals were chosen: David Darling, Michael Myers, Evleyn Russo, George Stacey and Harry Palmer (posthumously).
Honorees were selected based on established criteria that includes excellence in their profession, contributions to the Coxsackie-Athens Schools and dedication to the community. Honorees were nominated by members of the community and selected by the C.A.F.E. board, and will be honored at the Wall of Honor Gala on Saturday, November 16th at Pegasus Restaurant in Coxsackie starting at 5 PM. This year’s gala will be themed “Putting on the Ritz” including features from the 1920s.
“The primary mission of C.A.F.É. is to benefit students in our district by supporting educational programs that promote innovative, creative learning experiences. We do this by funding specific programs, but also by honoring those individuals from our community who have demonstrated the traits that we want future generations to exhibit”, said C.A.F.E President Daniel Quigley. “Through the Wall of Honor, we are celebrating role models who inspire current and future students to achieve excellence.”
To date, the C.A.F.É. has granted more than $100,000 to the C-A school district for programs including a greenhouse project, robotics program, maker space, fitness center, support for the CE aqua lab, and numerous field trips and learning experiences.
The event will include the induction ceremony, dinner, entertainment and a live auction to raise money for future C.A.F.E. initiatives.
